There have been very few periods in history when Americans were not worried about current problems and how “modern” culture was pulling society away from historical norms... but a majority always believed that the next generation would be better off than the last… until recently.

This newsletter explores the components of prosperity through a series of interviews with thought leaders in markets, government, media, religion and other disciplines.
I plan to explore real-life issues of how wealth can be built through the investment of capital and the investment of labor, and many of my interviews will focus on this discipline.
But I will also explore societal prosperity- how should it be measured? How has its meaning and measurement changed over time? How much more “prosperous” are we today as an American Society relative to years past? How about in other countries, cultures and even as a global society?
This philosophical exercise may yield some answers from time to time, but it is much more likely to stimulate intellectual curiosity leading to more questions than answers… and we hope lead to questions that are constantly improving.
